the fabled typewriter...
There's something uniquely satisfying with the way the keys sound with every tap of your fingers. They typewriter is an instrument used by many of the great writers to tell their stories. And their stories were created one keystroke at a time…. much like the way our stories are created on an improv stages: one word… one idea… one suggestion at a time.
Before there were correction ribbons on these typewriters, an author had to trust his instincts as each letter was pressed upon the page. If there was a mistake, there was no correcting it. And sometimes those mistakes became a part of the finished products.
Very much like improv. We embrace our mistakes and trust that they will lead us to the story that was meant to be told.

A mistake led us here
IMPROVactive was born out of a mistake. Once, when describing our shows, instead of saying interactive, the word IMPROVactive slipped out.
We liked the way it sounded and we developed our unique style of improv around it. In fact, we loved the way it may us feel and we developed our lifestyle around it too.
Now that’s living IMPROVactive!
